Nineteenth-century writer Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) referred to his ride on a Concord stagecoach across the midwest as being gentle as a baby carriage gently swaying back and forth. Arriving on time was the goal of all early mail coaches and as the mail carriers combined mail delivery with public transportation, the challenge soon became that of moving mail and people aboard a large, heavy stagecoach in a timely manner. Presentation will be ongoing throughout the day and will last approximately 35 to 40 minutes. This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place in a period setting. Held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, 579 Main Street, Anderson, TX 77830. Program subject to cancellation.
